Configuring the proxy server settings
This is required if you are behind a firewall or in other words, if you are
using a proxy server to connect to the remote system. The proxy server will
act as a mediator between your local system and the remote system. JFTP currently
supports WINGATE proxy server and you have to specify the details of it
inorder to connect to a remote system via a proxy server.
To do this -
-
choose "FTP | Options | Firewall Settings" from the menu bar.
-
A dialog box will appear (see the snap shot below) asking you the details
of your proxy server.
- In the "Host" field, specify the host name or the IP address of
your proxy server.
- In the "Port" field, specify the port number on which the FTP service
is running on your proxy server.
- When you are done with this, press the OK button to save the settings.
You can repeat the same process, when ever you want to change the proxy settings.
